Wintergreen Holly Glow in the Dark Bullet Pendant
I combined a recycled 40 caliber brass bullet shell casing with a vintage wintergreen cane glass glow in the dark bead. I added a green glass holly leaf and a red glass holly berry to the bail. This comes with a 24 inch gold plated chain. The clear bead has a stripe of two color pale green and tiny glow in the dark dots.
Caneworking is a glassblowing technique that is used to add intricate patterns and stripes to blown glass objects. Furnace glass uses large decorated canes built up out of smaller canes, encased in clear glass and then extruded to form beads with linear and twisting stripe patterns.
Holly has been a symbol of life and rebirth for over 2000 years. Holly was associated with Saturnus, the god of renewal and plenty in ancient Rome. The Druids regarded it as a symbol of fertility. The Celtic people thought that holly could bring luck when place in the house at Yule. Christians believe that the red holly berries symbolize the blood of Jesus and the pointed leaves represent the crown of thorns.
An original Beautiful Bullets design. I have been creating bullet jewelry since 2009 and have designed over a hundred different styles and types. I use recycled bullet shell casings, metal filigrees, Swarovski crystals, natural gemstones, vintage glass, and other items. All of the bullet casings I use are recycled so please allow for variations and small imperfections.
Part of the proceeds is donated to charity. I have sent donations to the Peace Corps, the Patriot Guard Riders, the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, the Sandy Hook School Support Fund, and the USO. Thanks to everyone who has purchased one of these designs and made that possible.
