  • $ 3500

A natural polished Larimar gemstone wrapped with square silver and copper wire. This comes with a 24 inch silver filled rope chain. The stone is from the Dominican Republic.

Larimar, also called Atlantis Stone, is a rare blue variety of pectolite found only in the Dominican Republic. The colors can be white, soft blue, turquoise, and deep blue. The island natives believed it came from the sea. The name Larimar is taken from the daughter's name of the man who discovered it, which was Larissa, and the Spanish word for sea, which is mar. The stone may fade over time in strong sunlight.

Larimar brings serenity and calm to many situations and is useful for relaxation and relief of stress. It can provide a harmonious atmosphere when placed at work or a tranquil space at home. Like most blue stones, Larimar is a healing stone and is often used by Reiki practioners. It is especially helpful to expectant mothers. Because it is a water element stone, it is often associated with the sea, and many people consider it a gift from the ocean.

The color blue is associated with the element of water. The spiritual significance of water is many dimensional, like the sea itself. The sea represents ebb and flow, waves and calm, a constant balance of new beginnings and life's lessons.

The elemental symbol of water represents creativity and rebirth. It manifests itself as the rhythms and patterns of our existence. The sea was the first source of all life on earth, and we continue to discover new life forms from the depths of the ocean.
