Blue Fluorite Octahedron with Sterling Fairy Star Crystal Pendant
I attached a silver wire spiral bail to a raw light blue banded fluorite octahedron crystal and added a Sterling silver Elven star charm. This comes with a 24 inch silver filled chain. The octahedron was cut from a larger fluorite crystal specimen. It has pale bands of purple, rainbow prisms, and tiny flecks of gold pyrite. The pyramid formation is common in fluorite crystals, but blue Illinois specimens are now more rare. This crystal is from Cave-In-Rock, Hardin County, Illinois.
Fluorite has been the state mineral of Illinois since 1965. At that time, Illinois was the largest producer of fluorite in the United States; however, the last Illinois mine closed in 1995.
Fluorite represents growth and adventure, and is helpful in dealing with high stress situations. It increases concentration, helps with decision making, and is said to absorb and neutralize negative vibrations. The calm and serene energy of blue fluorite can bring inner peace and establish emotional balance.
The septagram, also called a fairy star, faery star, or elven star, is a seven pointed interconnected star. It represents both power and protection. The number seven has vast spiritual significance. Some of these include the seven levels of heaven and angelic hosts, the seven main chakras and the seven levels of the universe. Seven is said to be the number of perfection.
Pyrite was used by ancient Mayans and Aztecs as a scrying stone. It was considered a powerful stone and was often used in divination and healing rituals. Pyrite is believed to attract good fortune and prosperity. Because it forms cubes and other polygons, believers in sacred geometry consider it of cosmic significance as well.
