Vintage Forget-Me-Not Sterling Silver Uncas Ring and Earrings Set
The ring is a vintage sterling silver Uncas forget-me-not floral repousse eternity ring, with two heart charms attached. The jump ring is soldered and the hearts have a blank engravable surface. The ring is marked STERLING and ->U<- the Uncas hallmark. The band is approximately 1/4" wide and the ring is a size 6.25. It could use a good cleaning but I will leave that up to the buyer.
The earrings are vintage sterling silver with the forget-me-not floral repousee pattern and screw backs. They also have the two dangling heart charms that are blank but can be engraved. The earrings are marked Sterling in a circle on the posts, but the do not have the U mark, so they may not be Uncas. They do go well with the ring however and I am selling them as a set.
The Uncas company was founded in Providence, RI in 1911 by Vincent Sorrentino (1892-1976), an Italian immigrant who came to America in search of opportunity. Uncas prospered because of its diverse product line and quality manufacturing. It became Uncas Manufacturing Company sometime before 1920. The hallmark U with an arrow on each side pointing to it was used from 1919 to 1988.
