Vintage Rainbow Prism Pyramid Peace Necklace Pendant
I wrapped a vintage rainbow prism pyramid with silver and copper wire, then added a silver plated peace symbol to the bail. This comes with a 24 inch silver filled chain. The prism is acrylic with a mylar silver backing. Because it is from the 1970s, it does have a few small scratches. However, they do not detract from the overall appearance.
The peace symbol has a convoluted and confusing history. It's most notable appearance in modern times was its first use by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) at their Aldermaston march in 1956. The CND meaning of the symbol is semaphore for 'N' (the two diagonal lines) and 'D' (the two vertical lines). About ten years later, the symbol was adopted as a general peace sign within the student anti-war movement. It became probably the single best known symbol of the youth culture of the sixties.
Pyramid power refers to the paranormal properties of the ancient Egyptian pyramids and objects of similar shape. With this power, model pyramids are supposed to preserve foods, maintain the sharpness of razor blades, improve health, and cause other dramatic effects.
Pyramids are said to increase your dreams and psychic activity. They generate negative ions, and are thought to have a balancing effect on the electromagnetic field of the body. It is also believed that pyramids can be used to charge crystals for healing.
