Red and Blue Cane Glass Bullet Spike Pendant Necklace

  • $ 3000

I used a recycled 32 caliber silver bullet shell casing, added a red and blue striped cane glass bead and a chrome spike to form the "bullet".  I wrapped the shell casing with hammered silver aluminum wire. This comes with a 24 inch silver plated chain.

Cane glass beads were first made during the 15th century in Venice and Murano, Italy. The techniques used date back to the Roman Ages. Most of these beads were made for export to countries in Africa and the Americas. They were used as currency to exchange for goods and services and were often called trade beads.

Caneworking is a glassblowing technique that is used to add intricate patterns and stripes to blown glass objects. Furnace glass uses large decorated canes built up out of smaller canes, encased in clear glass and then extruded to form beads with linear and twisting stripe patterns. Each item has been individually worked, strictly following the ancient tradition methods.

An original Beautiful Bullets design. I have been creating bullet jewelry since 2009 and have designed over a hundred different styles and types. I use recycled bullet shell casings, metal filigrees, Swarovski crystals, natural gemstones, vintage glass, and other items. All of the bullet casings I use are recycled so please allow for variations and small imperfections.

Part of the proceeds is donated to charity. I have sent donations to the Peace Corps, the Patriot Guard Riders, the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, the Sandy Hook School Support Fund, and the USO. Thanks to everyone who has purchased one of these designs and made that possible.
