Irish Bog Oak Moss Agate Triquetra Pendant Necklace

  • $ 3000

I combined a natural Irish bog oak bead with a moss agate bead, and a silver plated triquetra symbol. This comes with a 24 inch silver plated chain.

Irish bog oak is wood that has been preserved under water such as in bogs, lakes, and swamps for millennia. Because the wood has been deprived of oxygen, it goes through a process called maturation. Minerals bind with the tannins in the wood to stain it naturally. This fossilizes the bog wood into a very hard and dark material. These beads come from peat bogs in an area called Carrick in the parish of Glencolmcille, Ireland.

Irish bog oak is a powerful talisman for good fortune and and can draw positive energy to you. It may also repel negative vibrations that can interfere with your ability to manifest intent. It aids in many spiritual aspects of your life including meditation, lucid dreaming, and astral travel. Bog oak helps in connecting you to nature and the life force that surrounds everything. It reinforces the tenuous bond between human and elementals. This increases the ability to incorporate power from the earth in many types of rituals.

Moss agate has a connection with nature and the element of earth, and is seen as a grounding stone. It has been used for centuries in ritual and healing. It is said to have the ability to reduce sensitivity to pollution and allergies. In ancient times it was often used to promote a successful garden, find hidden food plants in times of need, and to protect against dangerous weather conditions.

The triquetra is a design symbol which was first used in Celtic or Gaelic art, most notably in the Book of Kells and other illuminated manuscripts. It is also known as the trinity knot and has been used for centuries by both Celtic Pagans and Christians. It can signify a special person or thing, and can also represent a threefold figure or idea. In contemporary times it often used in jewelry designs and it symbolizes the three promises of a relationship - love, honor and protection.
