Black Hills Gold Leaf Butterfly Vintage Ring 10K

  • $ 15000

A vintage Black Hills Gold ring featuring a vine and leaf design with a rose gold butterfly. The leaves are green gold and the ring band is yellow gold. It is very dainty and delicate. The ring is marked 10K with a Black Hills Gold maker's mark. I believe it was made by the Coleman Company in the 1970s. It is a size 6.5 and is in very good vintage condition.

Black Hills gold jewelry was first created in the 1870s during the Black Hills Gold Rush by a French goldsmith. The original design consisted of leaves, vines, and grape clusters. Alloys were used to create the different colors of gold. Silver was combined with 24K yellow gold to produce green gold, and copper was combined with 24K yellow gold to make pink gold. All gold originally came from South Dakota, which designated Black Hills gold as the official state jewelry in 1988.

Butterflies live short lives because they have mastered the art of living. They symbolize rebirth and profound changes of the soul. With each metamorphosis they bring renewed hope for the spirit and transformation of knowledge into new ways of thinking.
