Black Obsidian Gold Cloisonne Bullet Jewelry Pendant

  • $ 2850

I combined a recycled 22 caliber brass bullet shell casing with a vintage black obsidian teardrop bead. I added a gold and black cloisonne bead to the bail. This comes with a 24 inch black gunmetal chain.

Cloisonne is an ancient metalwork decorating technique used in making jewelry, china, religious icons, and other various items including candlesticks and teapots. The earliest known cloisonne examples were rings found in Cypress graves that date from the 12th century BC. The technique uses wire, enamel, and glass to form patterns and pictures. When cloisonne work began to spread into other regions, different methods were used by other countries to individualize the artistry of the designs.

In Victorian times black jewelry was often used to indicate a period of mourning, but modern meanings can vary. Black glass objects are often used as divination tools. The color black absorbs negative energy and can be used as protection from external influences. In the psychology of color, black can represent power and independence.

Obsidian can guard against negative energy and helps with grounding of emotions. It lessons feelings of doubt and suspicion and aids in the mental healing process. It allows you to let go of old grudges and misunderstandings between loved ones.

An original Beautiful Bullets design. I have been creating bullet jewelry since 2009 and have designed over a hundred different styles and types. I use recycled bullet shell casings, metal filigrees, Swarovski crystals, natural gemstones and vintage glass. All of the bullet casings I use are recycled so please allow for variations and small imperfections.

I started my bullet jewelry line as a peace project, and I continue to donate part of the sale to different charities. I have sent donations to the Peace Corps, the Patriot Guard Riders, the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, the Sandy Hook School Support Fund, and the USO. Thanks to everyone who has purchased one of these designs and made that possible.
