Quartz Crystal Gold Key Bullet Jewelry Necklace

  • $ 3250

I combined a natural quart crystal with a recycled 22 caliber brass bullet shell casing. I added a tiny brass key to the bail, and then suspended the bullet from a vintage gold plated hanger pin. This comes with a 24 inch gold filled chain. The quartz crystal has multiple points.

A key symbolizes the opening and closing of power. It can represent the thirst for knowledge and understanding as well as the simple seeking and curiosity of a child. A key can unlock the mind or the heart. It can also provide protection by the symbolic locking out of evil and negative influences.

I have seen quite a bit of criticism about the belief in metaphysical properties of stones. I know many people simply don't believe that crystals have any special energies or abilities. However, the scientific community began studying quartz crystals as far back as the 17th century.

When pressure is applied to a crystal, energy is released in the form of heat, light and electrical voltage. This is called piezoelectricity, and it was discovered by Jacques and Pierre Curie in 1880. It may not be proof of the metaphysical elements of stones, but it suggests that there may be more to crystals than we think.

Quartz has been collected, carved into talismans, carried about, and treasured by humankind for hundreds of thousands of years. Since the first ancient being spotted a shiny crystal object in the dirt and picked it up, we have prized it as a special stone of great value.

An original Beautiful Bullets design. I have been creating bullet jewelry since 2009 and have designed over a hundred different styles and types. I use recycled bullet shell casings, metal filigrees, Swarovski crystals, natural gemstones and vintage glass. All of the bullet casings I use are recycled so please allow for variations and small imperfections.

I started my bullet jewelry line as a peace project, and I continue to donate part of the sale to different charities. I have sent donations to the Peace Corps, the Patriot Guard Riders, the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, the Sandy Hook School Support Fund, and the USO. Thanks to everyone who has purchased one of these designs and made that possible.
